Leanne Moussa
Passionate about urban development, Leanne has mobilized community stakeholders to purchase and re-purpose two historic buildings in Ottawa, collectively worth over $5 million. The first, an old carriage house transformed into a much loved neighbourhood daycare, and the second a former Anglican Church into a community hub with a bakery, restaurant and event space. Further, Leanne led the successful re-zoning of the allsaints property that will allow the heritage building to be restored and maintained for generations to enjoy. She brings a background in public relations, policy and stakeholder engagement having helped guide major consultations at the national level, including in the health and energy sectors. Early in her career, Leanne worked as political staff in the areas of International Trade, Health, Intergovernmental Affairs and Official Languages. She holds a master’s degree in political science from Carleton University and a bachelor’s from the University of Alberta. In 2017, Leanne was named by Ottawa Life Magazine as one of the top 25 people in Ottawa. Leanne, her husband Masood and four children are long-time residents of historic Sandy Hill Ottawa.
Board of Directors
Over the last ten years, community members have remained on the Board and worked through some very difficult times to see this vision through. Their commitment has ensured the organization stayed intact, and they are the reason we are able to proceed with an expanded vision today. We owe them a collective thank you for their dedication and commitment to this project.
We have recently had some new and talented members join our efforts, both as Board members and as volunteers and collaborators. These people are equally committed to preserving the built-heritage of the area, while sharing the larger vision for a vibrant capital city. We welcome their energy and enthusiasm.
