Frédérique Tsaï-Klassen

Frédérique Tsaï-Klassen is a seasoned professional with three decades of diverse experience across politics, government, business and international organizations. She is an experienced leader committed to fostering effective, empowered and respectful teams and she finds great joy in mentoring young professionals.

Frédérique’s sense of community has been shaped by having lived for over a decade in Paris and Berlin. Neighbourhoods with strong identities, offering places where people gather and share experiences, are shaped by the people who inhabit them for the benefit of the wider community. Das Lokal Kitchen & Bar, which opened in 2013 and became a vibrant anchor for the North Dalhousie neighbourhood, was a defining part of the project.

Frédérique lives in Sandy Hill, where she grew up as a child and where she and her husband have raised their three children.

Board of Directors

Over the last ten years, community members have remained on the Board and worked through some very difficult times to see this vision through. Their commitment has ensured the organization stayed intact, and they are the reason we are able to proceed with an expanded vision today. We owe them a collective thank you for their dedication and commitment to this project.

We have recently had some new and talented members join our efforts, both as Board members and as volunteers and collaborators. These people are equally committed to preserving the built-heritage of the area, while sharing the larger vision for a vibrant capital city. We welcome their energy and enthusiasm.
